"Those who are affected by music can be divided into two classes -- those who hear the spiritual meaning, and those who hear only the material sounds..."
from Loreena McKennitt's "Book of Secrets"

Not much to say here, really...except that I do truly love music, in just about all forms. There isn't much I won't listen to or don't enjoy. Unfortunately, living where I do I don't get to see many of my favorite artists, however I was recently treated to great shows by Trace Adkins (in the rain and barefoot, no less, LOL!) and Jethro Tull, one of my favorite bands ever. I'm eternally grateful to Tull for trotting out one of my favorite songs on this tour also, "A Song For Jeffrey", which I never thought I'd get to hear live (having been but a youngster when it came out originally).

My favorite bands run an eclectic gamut...besides JT, my other favorites are (in no particular order) Rush, Nanci Griffith, Runrig, Marillion, the Monkees/Mike Nesmith, Michelle Shocked, The Call, Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks, and John Denver.

Check out my music quiz...I am ever amazed at how much attention it has gotten (and how many emails it has gotten me, *grin*) since I put it up a few years ago. It's definitely a trip down memory lane, it was for me even making it and listening to all those songs one by one to pull out a good lyric snippet.

Oh, and one other thing...if the person who introduced me to Jethro Tull's music should ever happen by to read this, (and you know who you are) - I will never again be able to hear "Home" or "Slow Marching Band" without thinking about you, even after all these years. It's so funny too, the last time I spoke with you it seemed like once you had shared your love of the music with me, that you had lost it yourself somewhat...almost like you transferred it directly to me and I've been carrying the torch ever since. Oh, and I still have the belt buckle too, *GRIN*!!
